Bite-Sized: Gladiator/Fortune

Gladiator/Fortune

  • Fortune's effect is ridiculous
    • In Big Money, effect is less ridiculous
    • In anything resembling an engine, effect is game-breaking
  • Fortune's cost is not as much as it looks
    • The debt cost is offset by the extra money Fortune gives you when you play it
  • You almost never want more than one
    • If you can't draw your one Fortune somewhat consistently, it's probably not worth going for at all
    • If you just want it for the +Buy, you're probably overbuilding
  • When do you want to buy Gladiators to uncover the Fortunes?

Do you want to buy gladiators to uncover the fortunes? Is it worth having more uniques in your deck to make gladiator hit more often?

Do you want to buy Gladiators? That question should definitely be answered in the article, I'll add that to the outline for sure.

As for helping Gladiator to hit more often, the very short answer to that question is "most of the time, not really" but of course it's more complicated than that. If there's room in the article that can surely be talked about, but the focus of this thing is really Fortune since that's the real powerhouse here. It wouldn't surprise me if the short answer is all that ended up in this article.
